*LG Sinha Chairs 6th J&K UT Wildlife Board Meeting*

Jammu, December 29 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 6th meeting of the Wildlife Board for J&K, approving several projects and recommending proposals to the National Board of Wildlife. Key projects cleared include 4G saturation, Jal Jeevan Mission, and eco-tourism initiatives.

The Board reviewed conservation efforts, including human-wildlife conflict measures and habitat restoration. Sinha emphasized prioritizing biodiversity management and promoting eco-tourism, especially among school children, at sites like Jambu Zoo and Hokersar Wetland.

The meeting highlighted the rising Hangul population (323 in 2025 vs 127 in 2008) and discussed compensating farmers for crop damage by wild animals. Documentaries on wetland restoration and Hangul conservation were screened, and publications like the Wildlife Calendar 2026 were released.
