*India’s Post-Conflict Messaging Strategy Under Fire: Chellaney Criticizes CDS’s Singapore Remarks*

*Operation Sindoor's Success Lies in Achieving Objectives, Not Counting Losses: Sushant Sareen*

Srinagar, June 01,NSR News desk: A debate has erupted over India’s post-conflict messaging strategy following Operation Sindoor, a four-day military offensive in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. Geostrategist Brahma Chellaney and foreign policy analyst Sushant Sareen offer differing views on the operation’s outcome and the government’s handling of the narrative.

According to Brahma Chellaney, the Chief of Defence Staff’s acknowledgement of Indian aircraft losses during a forum in Singapore was a mistake, handing a propaganda victory to Pakistan. Chellaney believes that such admissions should have been made on Indian soil, accompanied by India’s own estimates of the damage inflicted on Pakistan.

On the other hand, Sushant Sareen argues that Operation Sindoor’s success should be judged by its objectives, not aircraft losses. Sareen highlights that the operation achieved its objectives, including hitting terrorist bases and dominating the escalation ladder.

The operation, launched on May 7, used precision airstrikes to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-controlled territory. A massive Indian counterattack on May 10 forced Pakistan to call for a ceasefire, according to Indian officials.

The debate highlights the complexities of managing public diplomacy and narrative control in the aftermath of military conflicts. The Modi government’s post-conflict messaging strategy has come under scrutiny, with some arguing that it has undermined India’s battlefield gains.

In conclusion, the differing views of Brahma Chellaney and Sushant Sareen reflect the ongoing debate about India’s military operations and post-conflict narrative management. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how India will navigate these complexities.
