Srinagar/Katra, June 6, NSR : In a significant development for the region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train from Katra to Srinagar. This milestone marks the successful completion of the 272-kilometre Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link, enhancing connectivity and travel convenience between these key destinations.
The new train service is poised to boost tourism, economic growth, and social connectivity in the region. Two Vande Bharat train sets will operate four trips daily between Katra and Srinagar, starting June 7. Ticket prices will be Rs 715 and Rs 1320, respectively.
The train schedule is designed to cater to diverse travel needs, with Train 26401 departing Katra at 8:10 am and arriving Srinagar at 11:08 am. The return journey from Srinagar will commence at 2:00 pm, arriving Katra at 4:58 pm. The service will not be available on Tuesdays.
This development underscores the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in the region, fostering economic development and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
