*Amarnath Yatra Suspended Indefinitely Due to Heavy Rainfall and Critical Track Maintenance*

Srinagar, August 02’NSR:

The Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been suspended indefinitely starting August 3, 2025, due to recent heavy rainfall and the urgent need for critical repair and maintenance works along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. According to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, the decision to suspend the yatra was made to prioritize the safety of pilgrims and ensure that the tracks are restored to a safe condition.

The suspension comes after over 4.10 lakh yatris have already paid obeisance at the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnathji this year. Authorities are working diligently to complete the necessary repairs and maintenance works, but the exact duration of the suspension remains uncertain.

The decision to suspend the yatra has been taken as a precautionary measure to prevent any accidents or damage to the tracks. The administration has assured that further updates will be provided in due course, and pilgrims are advised to stay informed about the latest developments
