In its continuing efforts to combat the menace of drugs, Budgam Police arrested two drug peddlers in the Charar-I-Sharief area and recovered contraband substances from their possessions.
A Police Party of Police Station Charar-I-Sharief established a check point near Sports Stadium Charar-I-Sharief, headed by ASI Riyaz Ahmad, wherein, they intercepted one vehicle (Load Carrier) bearing Registration Number JK01AS-9968 for routine checking. However, during the search of the vehicle, heroin-like substances in two separate paper rolls weighing 12 grams approximately were recovered from the vehicle.
Subsequently, both the individuals on board were arrested on the spot for further course of investigation and during questioning they revealed their identities as Imran Ahmad Qasba S/O Nazir Ahmad Qasba resident of Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar and Imran Ahmad Shah S/o Ghulam Mohammad Shah resident of Mangan wachi Kanipora Srinagar. Moreover, the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case FIR No.15/2025 U/S 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief and Investigation has been set into motion.
