Man Apologises for Viral Video Targeting SMHS Doctors

Srinagar: August 10: A video that went viral on social media yesterday, allegedly portraying negligence by doctors at SMHS Hospital, has been found to be misleading. Authorities said the footage was a “deliberate attempt to malign” the hospital administration and its medical staff.

The person who recorded and circulated the clip, identified as Parvez Ahmad Dar of Rainawari, Srinagar, has issued a public apology, admitting the patient in question was promptly given oxygen and other necessary medical treatment. Dar also appealed to the public to delete the video from social media platforms.

Hospital authorities condemned the spread of “unverified and unethical content,” saying it had unfairly tarnished the reputation of the medical fraternity. They urged cyber police to take strict action against the administrators of Facebook pages and other handles responsible for sharing the video without fact-checking.
