Vice-Chairperson, District Development Council, Kupwara, and Senior Leader Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan Jammu today and discussed with him various matters pertaining to the development of District Kupwara and Lolab Valley.
The Vice-Chairperson submitted a detailed memorandum to the Lt Governor apprising him of the concerning issues and demands of District Kupwara, besides highlighting the developmental concerns of Lolab area. He highlighted the need for timely snow clearance of snow bound areas of District Kupwara especially Lolab, Machil, Keran, Karna , Jumgand, Nowgam etc, improvement in power supply in various areas of District Kupwara during winter and availability of buffer stock of transformers at Kupwara, vibrant and people friendly curtailment schedule for all the areas of Lolab. VC requested for holding snow festival/carnival in different picturesque and beautiful areas of District Kupwara for promotion of tourism. VC also thanked LT Governor for resolving various genuine issues of Kupwara and paying special attention towards the people of this border District. He told that he has very much expectations from LG for making District Kupwara a model District and expects resolution of all genuine issues (four lane road, tunnels, Railway line, District. Hospital, Tourism, university, etc). He also reminded him about sanction of Degree college for North Lolab, Education Zone at Wavoora, Medical Block at Maidanpora, Receiving station at Kuligam, CD Block at Kuligam and Separate Development Authority for Lolab, Lolab- Bandipora road, Separate horticulture zone Khurhama , Jk bank branch for Warnow and Tekipora Lolab.
While listening to the Vice-Chairman, the Lt Governor assured him of appropriate redressal of all genuine demands on merit and urged him to continue his endeavors of public welfare.
