Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, as promised earlier.

Speaking at the Times Now Summit 2025 on Friday night Amit Shah reiterates promise to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
But refrains from announcing a specific timeline for restoration.
Shah highlights successful conduct of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
We have assured that statehood will be restored. From the beginning, we have maintained this stand. However, it is not possible to announce when it will happen on a public platform.

Abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 led to bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories.
Amit Shah had assured Parliament that statehood would be reinstated at an appropriate.
