Bollywood Loses a Legend: Veteran Actor-Director Manoj Kumar Passes Away at 87

Mumbai, April 4: The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of a legendary actor and director, Manoj Kumar, who passed away this morning at the age of 87. Kumar was renowned for his patriotic films, earning him the nickname ‘Bharat Kumar’.

With a career spanning over five decades, Kumar left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. He was a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri and Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his immense contribution to Indian cinema.

Some of his most iconic films include Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), and Kranti (1981), which showcased his patriotic spirit and shaped the narrative of patriotic movies in Bollywood.

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed their condolences, remembering Kumar as an icon of Indian cinema who ignited a spirit of national pride through his films.
