*”Centre’s Prerogative: BJP Reiterates Claim on J&K Statehood Restoration”*

Srinagar, May 24,NSR:

BJP leader Sunil Sharma has asserted that restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood is the prerogative of the Parliament and the Centre, rather than regional parties like the National Conference (NC) or People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Sharma’s statement underscores the BJP’s stance on the issue, emphasizing the central government’s role in determining the region’s future.

According to Sharma, the NC and PDP have limited influence in the matter, and their claims about restoring statehood are misleading. Instead, Sharma highlighted the BJP’s national presence and its ability to drive change through Parliament. He emphasized that statehood will be restored when the time is right, through the efforts of Parliament and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sharma’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about J&K’s statehood and the role of various parties in the region’s politics. The BJP’s stance on the issue reflects its commitment to maintaining a strong central authority while addressing the region’s needs and concerns.

The development highlights the complex dynamics of J&K’s politics, where regional and national parties have differing perspectives on key issues like statehood and autonomy. As the situation continues to evolve, the Centre’s role in determining J&K’s future remains a critical factor in shaping the region’s trajectory.
