Ex J&K Governor says he’s in ICU in critical condition; blames BJP and wants to ‘tell the truth to the nation’
He also said that he had told Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself that there was corruption in the said case and claimed that the tender was passed with someone else’s signature after Malik was transferred.
New delhi, june 8th, Agencies:
Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik took to X to say that he is critically ill and has been shifted to the ICU due to his kidney problems. He said that he wants the nation to know the truth about the government, in case something were to happen to him.
In a long post on X, he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central government of defaming him and allegedly threatening him with a CBI inquiry. "When I was on the post of Governor, I was offered bribes of Rs. 150-150 crores, but I continued to work honestly like my political guru, farmer messiah late Chaudhary Charan Singh ji and he could never shake my integrity,” he said in the X post.
"When I was the Governor, the farmers’ movement was also going on. I raised the demands of the farmers while holding the post without any political greed. Then in the movement of women wrestlers, I stood with them in every fight from Jantar-Mantar to India Gate…Raised the issue of brave soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack, which has not been investigated by this government till date,” he continued.
Further, he wrote, "The government is trying to find an excuse to trap me in a false chargesheet by threatening me with the CBI. I myself had cancelled the tender in which they want to trap me.” He also said that he had told Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself that there was corruption in the said case and claimed that the tender was passed with someone else’s signature after Malik was transferred.
He further wrote that he isn’t afraid and isn’t going to bow down to any threats, while accusing the government of using its full force to demean him. "Finally, I request the government and its agencies to tell the truth to the people of my beloved country as to what they found during the investigation.”
However, the truth is that despite having the opportunity to serve the country in high positions in a political career spanning more than 50 years, I am still living in a one-room house and am also in debt. If I had money today, I would have got treatment in a private hospital,” Malik concluded in the X post.
