Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, visited the Nayoga Tunnel in Qazigund to review the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. The DGP interacted with police personnel deployed along the yatra route and commended their efforts in maintaining a high alert and ensuring a secure environment for the pilgrims.
During his visit, DGP Prabhat reviewed the ground preparedness and coordination among security agencies tasked with the smooth conduct of the yatra. He emphasized that all officers are actively deployed and working in full coordination to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the yatra.
The Amarnath Yatra is being conducted under tight security, with a multi-tier security cover in place involving J&K Police, CRPF, Army, and other security agencies. Advanced surveillance measures have been implemented to ensure real-time monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
The first batch of 5,485 pilgrims arrived in Kashmir amid heightened security arrangements, traveling via the twin routes of Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag. The security deployments along the route have been reinforced to ensure the safety of the devotees.
DGP Prabhat’s visit underscores the administration’s commitment to providing a secure environment for the pilgrims. With stringent security measures in place, the yatra is expected to proceed smoothly, allowing devotees to focus on their spiritual journey.
