Renowned Kashmiri Artist Ghulam Nabi Bulbul Passes Away

Renowned Sufi folk singer and master Sarangi player, Ghulam Nabi Bulbul, of Dengiwacha Rafiabad Baramula, breathed his last after a brief illness, leaving behind a rich legacy in the realm of Kashmiri music and culture.

 

A revered figure in the cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, Bulbul served as an artist in the Cultural Unit Kashmir, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), and retired as a Music Instructor. His soulful voice and command over traditional instruments, particularly the Sarangi, made him a beacon of folk music and dance across generations.

 

Bulbul represented Jammu and Kashmir in numerous prestigious cultural events across India and abroad, earning accolades and bringing laurels to the region. His contributions were recognized with several state and national-level awards, celebrating his lifelong dedication to the preservation and promotion of folk traditions.

 

The passing of Ghulam Nabi Bulbul has been widely mourned by literary and cultural organizations across the country. Tributes are pouring in for the ace artist and noble soul, whose music touched countless lives and kept the spirit of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage alive.
